Training Video: Handling Abbreviations in your Qinsight™ Search

Text Transcript

Abbreviations may have multiple meanings in the literature.

For example, you may be interested in "subacute bacterial endocarditis" and search for "SBE". You are more likely, however, to find articles about single-balloon enteroscopy and other concepts that share that abbreviation, since those terms occur more frequently.

So, it is always best to initially write out what you mean, and the system will learn what the abbreviation is used for specifically within each document.

Here is a search for "subacute bacterial endocarditis". Now, you have the results you were looking for. And, since you entered the full term, Qinsight's Artificial Intelligence engine also finds statements where the abbreviation SBE actually means subacute bacterial endocarditis.
