What We Collect
For each access by users from subscribing institutions, we receive information including, but not limited to, your Internet protocol (IP) address or domain name, your browser type, referring and exit pages, the duration of your visits, and of course, the queries you enter. None of this information is used to track you or your interests; it is solely to support your use of the site. In addition, for named user accounts or for institutional users who chose to create a registered account for saving searches and other optional functional uses, during registration we ask for personal information such as name, job category and field, organizational affiliation, email address, and your geographical location. For named users who sign up directly on the website, you will have used a credit card. Quertle does not store your credit card information - except the last 4 digits used solely to help you remember which card you used. All purchasing transactions are done through a trusted third party merchant account provider that uses a secure connection and does not transmit any credit card information back to Quertle. With a registered account, you may, optionally, save your search queries, save specific search results along with a personal annotation, set up automated alerts, and participate in Journal Clubs. All of this information is encrypted before being stored on Quertle servers. This information is used only to support your use of the website.

You may also remove any of the stored information, such as Saved Searches and Saved Articles, on the respective tabs in Your Space. In addition, you may cancel your entire registration at any time. To do this, go to the My Account tab on Your Space page and choose Delete Account. Everything associated with your account will be permanently deleted.

What We Do with the Information
Your organizational affiliation is used to connect your search results to your institutional subscriptions. We may also identify your organization as a user of Quertle services. Your email address is used to send you Alerts (notification about new articles), but only if you have elected to sign up for this service. Your email address is also used to send you important information about the site including, but not limited to, subscription information, notices of improvements to the site, announcements, and to communicate with you if there are any problems. Your contact information will not be sold or shared with others, except for our licensed distributors who are responsible for communication with customers in their assigned geographic areas. Site usage information, but never personally identifying data, is used to improve service.
